Cania to Monal goldfields.

A good half day tour to the Monal goldfields to see the commemorative plaque to the pioneers who are buried in the small Monal cemetry. Read all the history of the families who pioneered the area and see the old stamper and boiler which still remain.  Learn the legend of Katie Brown who was the wife of bushranger Frank Gardner and the sister in law of Ben Hall, the leader of a gang of Victorian/NSW bushrangers. Katie arrived in Monal after Frank Gardner was arrested and deported to California, and became known as Anne Hutton after she married the proprietor of the Royal Hotel in Monal.

Cania to Glassford Creek copper mine.

Another good half day tour to the Glassford Creek copper mine. Marvel at the workmanship of the miners who build brick chimney stacks that still remain in the bushland.  See the mound of copper ore still waiting to be crushed. Travel through some on the most beautiful scenery and learn the history of the pioneers of the area.

Cania to Tony's Tableland

This tour is for very experienced 4x4 drivers only.  It is a 7km climb up the bank of Deception Creek and there is only limited room to pass,  in a limited number of places, so you may have to back some distance if you meet another vehicle.  There is also the possibility of washouts and fallen timber across the road.  You need to be prepared to all of these possibilities.  This road is not well maintained as it is an old logging road which is now disused.  There is also some very steep climbs.

Cania to Coominglah State Forest

This area has always been a favourite of the locals for many years. It has many unique plants and is a scientific area now that logging has been stopped.  During WW2 it was the site of the POW camp for interred Italians who were living in Australia.  The roads here are not gazzetted roads so a permit is needed from NP&WS ( need ot organise a week prior -0741678162 ) otherwise your insurance will not cover you in the event of an accident.
